Together withthe Centre for Development of Inclusive Society,Eurobank EFG participates in programmes which support the principles of the “Design for All”, the UN International Convention for Promotion and Protection of Rights and Dignity of Disabled Individuals.

In accordance with these principles and in cooperation with the Centre for Development of Inclusive Society, Eurobank EFG has supported the following in the period 2005-2008:

  • The first international conference “Design for All”, which launched issues of accessibility of public areas for all members of the society,
  • Adjustment of its branches in Belgrade, Niš and Novi Sad to the needs of disabled individuals,
  • Expert training for employees on suitable approach to disabled individuals and use of adequate terminology,
  • Construction of the “Rainbow Park” at Bezanijska kosa, the first inclusive park in the region for all children,
  • Recruitment of disabled individuals,
  • Improvements of the Bank’s Website to make it accessible for everyone,
  • Non-profit campaign All different, all equal”, with a goal to promote the idea of raising public awareness and changing attitudes of the society about persons with disabilities, from sympathy, through empathy, to equality.

    Eurobank EFG is an active member of the Global Compact in Serbia which brings together companies committed to advancing their corporate social responsibility and practice. Members of the Global Agreement in Serbia established the Social Inclusion Working Group in early July this year, presided by Eurobank EFG, in order to encourage the responsibility of the society and influence the establishment of prerequisites for the inclusive society in the Republic of Serbia.

    The VIRTUS award for long-term partnership between profit and non-profit making sector represents an acknowledgment of cross-sector cooperation, joint efforts and activities regarding problem-solving, rather than financial support. Aspects taken into consideration during the awarding process are a degree of the engagement of a company in the mentioned process, results and effectiveness of support, quality of communication among parties, cooperation perspectives, as well as innovativeness in approach to resolving issues or fulfilling needs.
