Eurobank and NURDOR made children suffering from cancer happy
Belgrade, December 21st, 2012 – The National Association of Parents of Children Suffering from Cancer (NURDOR) and Eurobank distributed New Year’s presents today to children treated at the Chemo-Oncology Ward at the Institute for Mother and Child. Gift packs brought by Santa Claus have been provided by Eurobank, in cooperation with Dexy Co and publishing company Evro- Giunti.
“The grave disease that children at this ward are treated from completely changes their lives, as well as lives of their parents and the whole family. We believe that with care and warmth of all those who think about them a home atmosphere during New Year’s and Christmas holidays can be established. Eurobank’s gift packs confirm that we are not alone in the fight we lead here every day,” said Branislava Penov, Executive Director of the NURDOR.
Santa Claus will make happy 80 children suffering from cancer with New Year’s gift packs. Together with representatives of Eurobank and the NURDOR, next week he will also visit children treated at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia and University Children’s Clinic in Tiršova Street, as well as children accommodated in the Parents Houses at Bežanijska kosa and Senjak.
“Care for children and public health is one of the pillars of corporate social responsibility of Eurobank. The cooperation with the NURDOR is very important for us, as we wish to provide an example and thus motivate other companies to pay attention to children treated from this grave disease,” underlined Nataša Strugarević, a member of the Executive Board of Eurobank.
The NURDOR was established by parents of children suffering from cancer, medical professionals and volunteers in December 2003. Since then, this non-profit NGO has been helping children and their families fighting one of the most serious diseases of modern times. Unfortunately, nearly every day one child in Serbia is diagnosed with cancer. The main mission of the NURDOR is to provide suitable treatment conditions for children and quality of life of their families.
