Solidarity and prompt reaction of employees after the floods rewarded
Belgrade, December 16, 2014 - Eurobank Serbia is the winner of the Corporate Volunteering Award, granted by the Responsible Business Forum and Smart kolektiv, as a company whose employees contributed to the elimination alleviation of the flood consequences (#FloodRelief2014). The award ceremony was organised at the residence of Ambassador of Sweden, HE Christer Asp. The aim of the Corporate Volunteering Award is to promote companies which developed strategies and structures for facilitating investments in the local community and employee engagement, as well as companies which promote the employee volunteering culture in Serbia.
'Volunteering as part of CSR activities is one of the pillars of our strategy, as confirmed this May, when, unfortunately, Serbia was hit by the floods. In the first hours after declaring the emergency situation, all our employees were ready and helped at the territory of Obrenovac, Ub, Paraćin, Smederevska Palanka and many other municipalities. In addition to the urgent aid we provided in the inundated areas, we completely renovated the only kindergarten in Ub, totally devastated in the floods, through our long-standing humanitarian project “Veliko srce”. Regarding the award – what is important for us is not only what we accomplished but also how we accomplished it. Thank you again.” – said Željka Ćirić-Jakovljević, Corporate Communications manager of Eurobank Serbia.
The Corporate Volunteering Award was established in 2011 , marking the European Volunteering Year, when it was granted in 23 European countries, and as of now, the Responsible Business Forum and Smart kolektiv grant it once a year in Serbia.
