EUROBANK SERBIA WELCOMES MANCHESTER LEGEND NEMANJA VIDIĆ
Arrival of one of Manchester United’s best players Nemanja Vidić in Belgrade marked the continuation of collaboration between Eurobank and Manchester United FC, which has been officially marked by signing a new four-year contract. Thanks to Eurobank, journalists, customers, and employees had an opportunity to hear first-hand what partnership with one of Europe's most successful football clubs looks like.
“Manchester United is one of the most popular sports brands, which had long outgrown the boundaries of a football club and become a pioneer in exploring new business opportunities. We are very honoured that they chose Eurobank as their partner and the first bank to collaborate with in the region. This is a true testament to our strength as a team. This collaboration to mutual satisfaction started in 2014 and resulted in more than 20,000 Eurobank Manchester United co-branded payment cards that offer special benefits to the cardholders,” said Slavica Pavlović, President of Eurobank Serbia’s Executive Board.
Manchester United FC legend, Nemanja Vidić, expressed how happy he was to get a chance as Eurobank’s guest to learn more about Eurobank - Manchester United payment cards, which are available to all football fans who are the bank's customers.
“At Manchester United, team play and winning spirit come first. Thanks to Eurobank Manchester United payment cards, you can become part of the winning team. It is my great honour to have the opportunity to inspire Eurobank’s employees to even greater success, and all football fans in Serbia to daily life victories,” said Nemanja Vidić.
According to the Head of Financial Services at Manchester United, Simon Hoppe, the continuation of partnership with Eurobank speaks best to its success.
Eurobank and Manchester United are both organizations that pay special attention to corporate social responsibility. The success achieved during the three years of the partnership was celebrated by supporting the Disabled Sports Association of Serbia, which for the first time in its history formed a football team.
“We are proud to announce the beginning of collaboration with the Disabled Sports Association of Serbia. We want to support them and promote inclusion through all aspects of social activities, as one of the main pillars of corporate social responsibility,” said Slavica Pavlović, President of Eurobank’s Executive Board.
President of the Serbian Sports Association of the Disabled Persons, Dragan Janketić thanked representatives of Eurobank and Manchester United for the support and pointed out that the newly formed team will do their best to justify expectations.
“We were founded in 1965 and since then, almost all sports have been represented within the Association. We had the idea long ago to form a football team as well, and we are now able to fulfill it owing to the support from Eurobank.”
The forming of the Serbian Sports Association of the Disabled Persons’ football team was the occasion for an informal match between mixed Eurobank and Association teams. Nemanja Vidić made the opening kick-off.
