The start of the new school year for pupils of the school "14. oktobar"
The start of the new school year for pupils of the school "14. oktobar" from Niš is marked by better conditions for children and employees at this educational institution. The school for primary and secondary education “14. oktobar” is this year celebrating its 50th jubilee. In the year of the anniversary, the school’s boiler room started working again, the facilities of the boiler room were refurbished, cabinets were equipped with computer equipment. All this is the result of the project “Big Heart” implemented by Eurobank and Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation during the previous months.
In recent years, Eurobank and the Foundation renewed 39 playgrounds in kindergartens, a large number of rooms and classrooms of schools and health facilities, with the aim of improving conditions for growth and development of the youngest ones.
Thanks to more than 22 thousand users of “Big Heart” MasterCard and the project of the same name, this year marks the seventh year of existence during which it provided joy for several thousand children’s hearts.
“We are pleased that through the "Big Heart” project, Eurobank and the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation helped one more educational institution. In addition to its long tradition of half a century, this school has shown that everyone is committed to providing children more favourable conditions for their upbringing, education and development. The school has its own student cooperative, it organises numerous creative workshops and is developing its own sports club, and our contribution to improving the conditions is viewed exclusively as an additional incentive to the projects and ideas of the management of the school and its pupils,” Slavica Pavlović, President of the Executive Board of Eurobank, said.
At the donation granting, the pupils were also greeted by Ana Koeshall, director of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, partner of Eurobank in the project.
“Big Heart” is a great example of how foundations and companies can successfully cooperate to change society for the better, changing first of all the conditions for quality upbringing and education of children. It is my pleasure to see so many smiling and talented children in one place and I wish them a lot of success in further education,” said Ana Koeshall.
