EUROBANK REWARDED PARTICIPANTS OF THE “MAGIC IS IN TEACHERS’ HANDS” CONTEST
The selection of the best online teaching example within the “Magic is in teachers’ hands” contest is completed and Eurobank, as the sponsor, provided awards in two categories – two laptops with installed software for reading e-books.

The special award for interaction with students was granted to Mirjana Stakić-Savković, a professor of the Grammar School of Philology in Belgrade, for the Stories and Tales from the Time of Coronavirus in a students’ e-book in 11 languages, while the award for the best example of use of digital teaching tools was won by Mladen Šljivović, a professor of the Grammar School in Zaječar, for the project Learning via Android Game and an online experiment about functioning of nuclear reactors.

“Eurobank joined the “Magic is in teachers’ hands” contest as it supports education, just like our CSR project titled “A School Designed for You”, launched two years ago in order to provide better learning and working conditions in secondary schools across Serbia. We realize this project with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. We are glad that following NALED’s invitation, we are sponsoring the contest which promotes and rewards the best online teaching examples. We have rewarded and publicly recognised the teachers who applied an innovative and modern approach to teaching in the previous period, bearing in mind the circumstances under which they organised online classes and the complexity of the task” said Dušan Mihailović, a member of the Executive Board of Eurobank.

The aim of the “Magic is in teachers’ hands” contest is to reward teachers and professors of primary and secondary schools who have designed and organised online classes in the previous period. Rewards are based on an assessment of an expert selection jury and votes of the public. The contest attracted huge interest, with 600 applications of education professionals from primary and secondary schools across Serbia.
The ‘Magic is in teachers’ hands’ contest was executed by NALED and the Organisation for Career Development and Youth Entrepreneurship “Connecting”, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the Institute for the Improvement of Education, the National Secretariat for Public Policies, within the Public-Private Dialogue for Development, supported by US Agency for International Development (USAID).
