Humanitarian “Big Heart” project in Šabac
“Sveti Sava“ Primary School, the only one in the Mačva Region specialised in educating and upbringing children with disabilities, now has a new and fully equipped sensory room. Owing to the “Big Heart” project, jointly executed by Eurobank and the “Ana and Vlade Divac“ Foundation, around one hundred pupils of this school will have an opportunity to use the sensory room and thus improve cognitive abilities and social skills, necessary for their inclusion in the general social community. The donation value is around RSD1.4mn.
On this occasion, the school has been visited by Šabac Mayor Nebojša Zelenović. “Keeping pace with modern trends, the education professionals in “Sveti Sava“ Primary School have been striving to provide the best quality education for children with disabilities for more than four decades now. The donation within the “Big Heart” project will significantly contribute to the achievement of our ambition to develop the school into a resource centre providing various types of services,” said the Mayor.
Donation funds have been provided owing to Eurobank clients, more than 22 thousand of them, who use the “Big Heart” card. “The sensory room in “Sveti Sava“ Primary School in Šabac was one of the priorities when we considered plans for this year. The only school for rehabilitation and education of children with disabilities in the Mačva Region is exceptionally important for social inclusion of children with disabilities in this part of Serbia. We are glad that, in cooperation with our clients, we have supported the pupils of this school in improving their abilities,” said Magdalena Tatić, Head of Consumer Lending in Eurobank.
Within the six-year long humanitarian “Big Heart” project, 38 kindergartens and primary schools in Serbia have been renovated and significant funds have been donated for the reconstruction of the entire ORL Ward in the largest children’s healthcare centre, “Institute for Mother and Child” in Belgrade.
“Six years of commitment to children, in 38 kindergartens and schools, continuous work on improving their growth, education and upbringing is huge big professional, as well as personal satisfaction for all of us. We are proud of the fact that “Big Heart” is one of the longest-term and most distinguished projects, which we have been executing in cooperation with our partners from Eurobank,“ said Ana Divac, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the “Ana and Vlade Divac“ Foundation.
The host of the visit, School Principal Snežana Radovanović, says that equipping of the sensory room is highly significant not only for the school but also for the social community. “Children from other pre-school institutions and all children who need this service will come to treatments in the sensory room. “I would like to thank
