Selection of Blic Entrepreneur of the Year 2017

A panel discussion titled “The Country and Small Business” marked the official beginning of the selection for Blic Entrepreneur of the Year 2017
Branislav Nedimović, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Dušan Mihailović, a member of Executive Board of Eurobank; Zoran Martinović, Director of the National Employment Service; Jelena Bulatović, Executive Director of the Serbian Association of Managers, and Branislava Simanić, Director of the Entrepreneurship Sector of Serbian Chamber of Commerce, spoke at the panel held at the Blic editorial office in Belgrade.
Predrag Mihailović, editor-in-chief of the daily Blic, who moderated the panel discussion, pointed out that the goal of Blic Entrepreneur campaign is to promote, enhance and support the entrepreneurial spirit in Serbia.
- This is the eleventh year we have chosen the best entrepreneur in Serbia. The criteria which the panel of judges will use to select the best nominee are profitability, productivity, liquidity, export potential, as well as the number of employees and the newly employed. The judges will also evaluate technological innovations in the nominees’ companies, as well as the extent of their focus on environmental protection, and contribution to the development of local communities. This will not be an easy task, Predrag Mihailović said.
Dušan Mihailović, a member of the Executive Board of Eurobank, a partner of the programme Blic Entrepreneur of the Year 2017, points out that the sector of small businesses and entrepreneurs is important since it represents a driving and development force of the country and employs a significant number of people.
- I hope that we will select the best entrepreneur who will use the award as an incentive in further work, but will also serve as a good example for anyone who would like to plunge into entrepreneurial waters – said Dušan Mihailović and added that Eurobank continuously works on improving the conditions and criteria for providing bank loans and support to small and medium-sized enterprises.
The panel of judges comprising of Siniša Mali, Minister of Finance, Dušan Mihailović, a member of Eurobank Executive Board, Jelena Bulatović, Executive Director of the Serbian Association of Managers, Zoran Martinović, Director of the National Employment Service, Branislava Simanić, Director of the Entrepreneurship Sector of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and Suzana Lakić, a Blic journalist, will use the given criteria to select the top 50 out of 300 companies in Serbia in the coming weeks. After they gain a detailed insight into their business, the panel will select the ten most successful nominees with the help of the rating agency, and ultimately choose the winner of the award Blic Entrepreneur of the Year 2017.
Blic Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 will be selected in mid-July. The winner will be awarded RSD 1,000,000, which is provided by Eurobank as a partner of the campaign.
Just a reminder: the first to have been selected as the best entrepreneur of the year 2007, when the campaign first kicked off, was Srdjan Pavlović, the owner of Pavle Obuća from Bela Palanka. The prestigious award was later given to the companies Agrounik, Stublina, Execom, D-company, as well as the owners of Mikroelektronika, Blend, Manual, Edos. Miroslav Kovačević, who owns the winery of the same name, was selected as the best entrepreneur for the year 2016.
